LEDGEWOOD CLEANUP DAY IS BACK AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!

After taking some time off to deal with Covid, this year’s spring cleanup will be May 14 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. Winter and spring storms tend to bring lots of trash with them and we’re going to get rid of it! And, even better, we’ll do it as a community and meet our neighbors. We’ve got a lot of new families that have moved into Ledgewood in the past couple of years and the cleanup is a great chance to meet them and welcome them to Ledgewood.

We’ll meet at the clubhouse and get things rolling at 9:00 am. Don’t worry if you can’t get there at 9:00 am or can’t stay until noon. All help is greatly appreciated. Trash bags, gloves and bottled water will be provided. Volunteers will fan out across the community, picking up trash that has accumulated on our common grounds areas. Our efforts will be restricted to common grounds, so we’ll stay off our homeowner’s private property and we won’t be removing any trash from residences.

When the work is done the fun starts. We’ll have a food truck at the clubhouse, so plan to stick around and enjoy lunch in the company of your neighbors. And don’t worry if you had prior commitments and couldn’t participate in the cleanup. The food truck is for everyone in Ledgewood. We’ll all be responsible for buying our own lunch.

See you then! - Board of Trustees

LEDGEWOOD POOL

by the Board of Trustees

Summer is just around the corner and the 2022 Ledgewood pool season will be here before we know it! Ledgewood Pool will be open Saturday, May 28 through Monday, September 5.

Pool hours are as follows: Sunday - Saturday : 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm

After much positive feedback, we will again be offering the option for lap swimmers to reserve a lane in hour increments. Since we have two lap lanes, one will be available for reservation while the other will be open to all swimmers. Residents are welcome to bring guests to the pool. Every household has 30 passes for the season. Additional guest passes may be purchased if needed. Please remember that residents must be present while checking in guests at the pool.

LEDGEWOOD IS HIRING LIFEGUARDS!!!

To apply, please visit this page and fill out the pool facility employment application. We are looking forward to a fun summer and seeing you all at our neighborhood pool!

COYOTES

There has been a lot of talk (and misinformation) around Strongsville and Ledgewood about coyotes in the area. Jonathan Cepek, wildlife specialist with the Cleveland Metroparks, will be doing a presentation specifically about coyotes on May 4 at 6pm at the Water Stewardship Center in West Creek Reservation. This is at 2277 W. Ridgewood Drive, Parma - not far from the old Parmatown Mall. The talk is fascinating. More information is available from the Cleveland Metroparks. By the way, if you have not yet toured the Water Stewardship Center, it’s a great stop, especially if you have school-age children or grandchildren.

Thank you to Curt Harler for providing this information.

GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR LEDGEWOOD RESIDENTS

Here’s a wonderful opportunity for Ledgewood and all Strongsville residents. As our woodlands age and more trees come down the city of Strongsville is offering a great deal to replace them. See the details below and get on the list for the fall planting. I am so happy to have received this grant! With the increased cost of labor, materials and gasoline is makes it so we do not have to increase the cost to the residents!

The City’s Tree Replacement Program
This program offers residents one - 1 ¾” BB tree planted in their tree lawn (area between sidewalk and curb) for $100.00. ($100 per tree, if you’d like more than one). The planting sites will be marked out and prepped in September. Planting can occur any time between October and the end of November. The projected completion date is the first week of December. If you would like to participate in the program, please contact jennifer.milbrandt@strongsville.org by July 8. If you have any questions in regards to the program, please call Jennifer at 580-3124.
