February 2020 | The Ledger
Welcome to the first Ledger of 2020. It’s great to have the culvert completed, so we are connected once again. We’ve been lucky so far with light snows that have turned our neighborhood into winter wonderland as seen in the photo to the right. Thank you to Bas and Gretchen Van Besouw for sharing one of those scenes. This Ledger introduces the 2020 trustees and a heads up on some items coming in the near future.
MEET YOUR 2020 TRUSTEES
KEN ANGERMEIER | President
president@theledgewoodassociation.com
My husband, Josh (pictured on the left), and I moved to Ledgewood three and a half years ago from Ohio City. We love it here! We have great neighbors and take advantage of the pool and tennis courts as much as possible. You may see us, like many others in the neighborhood, walking our hound down the different streets and cul-de-sacs. The Ledgewood neighborhood cannot be beat.
I joined the neighborhood Association trustees last year and was one of the Architectural Review Trustees. This year, I was elected President. The Trustees are working on several items carried over from last year. My goal this year is to improve communications between the Trustees and the residents, while continuing to maintain the association’s fiscal soundness. A few steps in this direction are happening in the first quarter. We will be sending a Ledger once a quarter, a neighbor survey will be emailed in February/March, and a neighborhood community round table event will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2020.
If you are reading a hardcopy of this, please contact me and we will make sure you get a printed survey to answer. Please also feel free to contact me for any ideas on the above, or just to say hello.

ZARINA MELIK-STEPANOVA | Vice President & Architectural Review Trustee
architectural@theledgewoodassociation.com
I, my husband Dirk, and our two sons, have lived in Ledgewood for the past five years. We consider ourselves truly lucky to be able to call Ledgewood our home. We love our ravine backyard, our quiet cul-de-sac and our amazing neighbors across the entire neighborhood. I love to run through absolutely every cul-de-sac in the neighborhood, noticing the uniqueness of each house, the calm of the trees, and the smiles of old and new friends. I am a professor of piano at Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music. As your Vice President and Architectural Review Trustee, I (along with Nicole Rosario) is the person to contact in regards to the approvals for new fences, yard improvements, new roof, decks, etc. You are also welcome to contact me when you have concerns about other people’s yards, such as upkeep, weeds, trash cans, trees, sidewalks, and post lights. Nicole and I are also happy to answer all the questions about the annual architectural walk through.
This spring and summer, I would like to tackle the mess First Energy left in our neighborhood after their work during the last two summers. If you see any electrical cords hanging out of your outdoor electrical boxes, or if your yard was left in a bad condition, please e-mail me your address, description, and picture of the issue. I will also be posting the same request on Facebook, and you can contact me that way.

My husband, Mike, and I moved to Ledgewood two years ago in June. We enjoy the nature and beauty of our community and can typically be seen on the south / east side of the neighborhood walking our four-month-old Shiba Inu pup, Hank.
As an Architectural Review Trustee, I will work with Zarina to assist homeowners on architectural approvals, concerns, and questions. I am here to help with questions our communities’ home exterior, fences, yard, decks, weeds, trash cans, trees, sidewalks, and lamp posts. Zarina and I are looking forward to planning and hosting our annual architectural walkthrough. Stay tuned for more information. I’m looking forward to diving deeper into my Trustee role and responsibilities to better serve our community, as well as to see how I can leverage my 20 years’ worth of experience in communications and marketing to the association.
When I’m not walking my dog or volunteering my time as a Trustee, I work as President and Executive Marketing Strategist for the interactive marketing agency, The MOD Pros; I started four years ago.
HOLLY ZADONY | Pool Management Trustee
info@theledgewoodassociation.com
Hello! My name is Holly Zadony and this is my first year as a neighborhood trustee. Our family moved to Ledgewood 7 1/2 years ago and we absolutely love living here. My husband, Danylo grew up here and we knew very early on that this is where we wanted to raise our family. We have three children who are all very involved with the Ledgewood Swim Team. My husband is the president of our neighborhood swim team and we have enjoyed seeing the team grow and flourish over the last few years. Not only is swim team a great way for kids to stay active, but it is also a wonderful way for Ledgewood families to get to know one another better. Our family truly values the friendships we have made through swim team over the years and we are looking forward to meeting even more new families this year! I will be working with the pool, pool manager, and lifeguards this summer. We are currently working to fill the position of pool manager. If anyone is interested, please contact me at holly@ledgewood.org. I know we are still in the middle of winter, but think spring! And summer! It will be here before you know it and we can't wait to see you all at our neighborhood pool!
NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITY ROUNDTABLE
Mark your calendar! We will be hosting a Neighborhood Community Roundtable where you can get updates, ask questions and learn more about the Trustees on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the Clubhouse. We are finalizing the time and details and will share final info via email and Facebook.
If you have ideas and/or want to be part of the planning or execution, please contact Holly at info@theledgewoodassociation.com
Pool update: You may have noticed that the pool cover is off the pool. It was removed to avoid damage to it, and avoid costly repairs. After the pool cover was installed, the water level receded. Without the support of the water the straps were stretched to their limit with the likelihood of them snapping. One of our pool repair/maintenance companies put on their wet suit and did some investigating into where a water leak could be occurring. No leak was found. A long period of warm weather is needed for the next phase. Let’s hope Punxsutawney Phil is right!
The No Diving sign and the ice didn’t deter this dry suited, leak-detecting diver.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for someone who is interested in making our Ledgers look better. Anyone interested in helping with design and copy editing contact info@theledgewoodassociation.com.
